Dan Hollander – Dan has been teaching since 1989, mixing humor, patience, and a strong technical background to help skaters achieve their potential. He started skating at the age of 4. He toured with Champions On Ice for a decade as the tour comedian following in the footsteps of his idol Scott Hamilton. He is a 2X National Bronze medalist. Candace Kuk-LaFerle – Candace has been coaching for 19 years, taking students from beginners all the way through senior moves and freestyle. She believes skating should be fun, rewarding, challenging, and help develop you as a person. She coached the Birmingham United HS Figure Skating Team to a state championship in 2003. She is a member of US Figure Skating and the Professional Skaters Association (PSA). Candace has earned Gold Freeystle, and Silver Dance. After her competing years, she toured with Nutcracker on Ice for a season. Candace is accepting new students.
Marcia Little – Marcia has been teaching for 12 years and is a Canadian double Gold Medalist in Freestyle and Dance. She has taken her students from beginner through their senior tests in Freestyle, Moves and Dance and also coached competitive skaters at the senior level in both Canada and the USA. She toured with Disney on Ice for 6 seasons and has worked with Dan Hollander as one of his choreographers for the past 6 years. Marcia is accepting new students.
Sandy Lyons – Skating since 1992, this former competitive skater placed in the top 10 of final rounds at Adult Nationals in 2002 & 2003 (Bronze level). She has been on staff at FSCB since 2004 and holds the following active ratings from the Professional Skater’s Association (PSA): ‘Registered’ Rating in Group Lessons, ‘Registered’ Rating in Freeskate & ‘Certified’ Rating in Moves in the Field. She is pursuing additional ratings. Sandy attended Michigan State University where she earned Dual Bachelor’s degrees (Communications & Advertising).
Erika Meltzer Fillmore – Erika competed Nationally through the Senior level in Freestyle and Pairs. She has been coaching ice skaters of all ages and abilities since 1998, from beginners to National competitors. Erika is also a leading expert in Sports Psychology and Athletic Nutrition as it specifically relates to figure skating. She works with members of the US Olympic Team to improve athletic performance, as well as with aspiring beginner skaters and all levels in-between. She holds degrees in Psychology from Princeton University and the University of Michigan.
Emily Naperkoski – Emily has been coaching since 2001. She has Senior Moves, Intermediate Freestyle, and International Dances. Emily competed nationally and internationally at the Senior level of synchronized skating for 14 years. She is currently coaching the Intermediate team for the Crystallettes. Emily continues to compete and was a medalist at the 2010 and 2011 USFSA Adult National Figure Skating Competition. She has taken students from “Learn to Skate” through Senior Moves and Pre-Gold Dances.
Jon Robinson – Jon has been teaching skating since 1992, and his goal is to make skating fun by stressing good, sound basics. He has had two individual skaters and a pair team compete in the United States Figure Skating’s Junior National Championships, and he is a USFS Gold Medalist in Figures, Freestyle, Pairs, Compulsory Dance, Free Dance & Moves-in-the-Field. Jon has also passed most of his Ice Skating Institute tests – including Pair 8 with his daughter, Kristie, in April 2010. Oh yeah – and he was also a Principal Skater in Disney on Ice for a year! Jon is currently accepting new figure skating (and hockey) students.
Natasha Haase – Natasha is a former World competitor and a member of the Russian National Team (1975-1985). She won medals at numerous National and International competitions including 1981 Winter World University Games. She is an International Master of sport of Russia. Natasha has a Master’s degree in choreography from the Institute for the Theatrical Arts in Moscow and a Master’s Degree in coaching from the Leningrad State Academy of Physical Education and Sport. She has 33 years of coaching experience, working with National and International skaters. Natasha is a Free Style PSA Master-Rated coach and is also an examiner for PSA.
